Battlegrounds is a server that features regular TF2 game modes and Valve maps.

This server was first Butterfield but due to low activity, but was shut down and replaced with battlegrounds.

In Battlegrounds, you cannot use the Golden Machine Gun items which you can use in Chambers and Tunnels, since this server is vanilla. There are still stats and challenges that earn you coins or EXP.

It is not known that you can evolve or not in Battlegrounds. Most likely not, as it requires UserItems to start the evolution into a Gold Member, Platinum Member or Admin, and UserItems is not available in Battlegrounds.

Gold and Platinum do not work either, so fall damage is on, and there is a respawn time.

Trivia

• The first map played for the testing and public release of Battlegrounds was cp_Badlands.

• The ideas of vanilla weapons only and no random crits have been proposed, but nothing of it has gone farther than a mere suggestion.

• A custom GMG map has been proposed, but nothing has come of it yet.
