Rooms

The District

The District is for achievements and other unofficial events. The layout of this area is a long hall shape with ten lockable rooms (five on each side). The doors are able to be locked/unlocked through use of a large button above each door on the inner side. The first three on either side are empty, except for a resupply cabinet in each. Past the three basic rooms are long rooms with cap points at the far end and resupply cabinets at the entrances.

Further on, you can find the back area where most achievements are done. There are pain-pads that hurt you while you stand on them, a large pool of water, and rooms on either side: the one on the left holds a pool of death water, and the one on the right holds the BLU and RED intel. When approaching the pool, along the left side is a small set of stairs that leads under the pool where you can hide if you're playing a little game with a friend. And finally there's the teleporter behind the pool that activates once every 30 minutes. This teleporter leads to the Cake Room, a very secret room that requires a lot of skill to Climb. *hint* *hint*

Deathmatch Arena

The Deathmatch Arena is where most of the killings and killing related events occur in the server. The arena itself is situated around a lone control point which tells which team is in control of the arena itself, if if stays the same colour for more then a minute then that means you obviously have control over the arena, or no one has noticed you captured the point. Surrounding the control point is a bunker like set of walls with a hole directly above the control point for those who like to 'drop in unannounced' so to speak, and around the bunker is another set of high walls all mirroring each other to promote equal game-play throughout the entire arena.

On the sides are two long shacks only accessible by the walls, and contains statues of each class inside them. If you are a sniper you could use these shacks to your advantage as the windows do not have any glass and allow the snipers to shoot through the windows if they get a good shot on the enemy. Finally there's the spawns. The spawns are facing each other both on one side of the arena. The spawns each have eleven different exits (seven on the bottom, four on the top) to prevent spawn camping, and the two exits on far ends of the spawn lead to the other end of the dm area to prevent mass spawn camping. So it is physically impossible to spawn camp in the arena.

Coloring Book

The Coloring Book as an area, does not in fact have any set of rules, nor does it have any particular use other then special events like Pyro tennis or Huntsman battles. The only time it has any actual set rules, is when an event is happening and then the admins enforce them, otherwise it takes a lot of skill so it doesn't go to hell like most player hosted events do in the server. Although mostly useless, the coloring book is still a great place to hang out and do what ever you want without the risk of being banned. You can settle duels, find out who's faster, taller or maybe even stronger. It's just a fun place to hang out when you don't want to be in the district.

Battle Room

The Battle Room is simply for melee only fights. Set to be like a medieval fight, the battle room consists of one control point like in the deathmatch arena, but is surrounded by brick walls to ditto an old arena or training ground in a castle. To make it an equal arena, taunts as well as mouse-2 attacks are disabled to force players to think what weapon is required to win the battle. Like in the deathmatch arena, the only way for it to be unbalanced, would be if one team had more people then the other, which is always the case. A medium health kit also spawns on the Control Point for use by both teams.

Trivia

  • The "GORDON!" event was recorded on Chambers v49 (Video)
  • Similar to the above event, the sounds were replaced with the heavy's "Ohohoho" laugh in v49 (Video)
  • The Battle Room was added due to demands on the forums. It uses a plugin that forces players to use their melee weapons, making melee wars in the server easier to control
  • The Deathmatch Arena used to have metal shields on the spawn balcony. This was removed when Chambers was updated, replacing the shields with sections of walls
  • When a player is kicked/banned from the server, a heavy "NO"/"And this!" soundfile plays, respectively.
  • Often, after 10 version updates, an entirely new generation of Chambers is made which replaces the previous generation
  • Replaced maps will then be available in the Historical Server
  • In v49, the coloring book was more colorful then it was in v59
  • Previous versions of chambers (on historical) had the Haunted Crypts. These crypts were reachable from both team spawns. They contained a type of ghost named "Ghosties". They would simply move around. Many player have asked how to get there, ultimately finding it themselves. This room was removed after v49.
  • In previous versions, the song Propane Nightmares by Pendulum would always play when a player joined.
  • The Battle room in v59_remix has a look resembling CP_DegrootKeep

Glitches

  • Sometimes it is possible for people to enter the battle room with usable weapons or building tools. It is recommended the player kill themselves and respawn to avoid punishment.
  • Sometimes coins that drop become solid entities and cannot be picked up by any player.
  • The dispensers inside the DeathMatch Arena sometimes fail to work correctly, either not giving ammo, health, or just stop working completely. A map reset is the only known way to fix this.
  • Sometimes when you travel around the different parts of the map, your weapons may randomly disappear. This is a bug that revokes certain weapons due to a error in the plugin. Touching a resupply locker will allow you to receive the lost weapons back.
  • Sometimes certain props from items will not disappear due to an error. These items will just stay in their place as just an image glitch, they do not block movement or damage in any sort of way.
  • Sometimes if a player is rapidly sapping the dispenser in the Coloring Book, they may find themselves unable to sap it. The reason for this is unknown, but switching weapons and switching back fixes this error.
  • If you attempt to teleport to a player and he/she has an entity or part of the map above his/her head, you will become trapped in that entity upon teleportation.
  • It is possible to open locked Chamber doors, though the method of how to do this is under tight wraps. It is not recommended to open occupied Chambers, which could result in a kick or ban from the server.
  • It is possible to fire/jarate/mad milk/fire certain projectiles through the glass chamber door.
  • It is possible to become stuck in a Chamber door by setting your spawn inside the area, closing the door, and respawning.
  • Certain commands might fail to work at times, such as votemute, sm_arcade, etc.
  • It is possible to stand on the high balconies in the Melee Room by using the explosion from the Ullapool Caber and jumping up there. The reason for this is during the map reconstruction, a barrier was not put up there, however this glitch only allows you to spectate, leaves you with little health and a poor way to self defend.
  • When under a closing chamber door, upon typing !possess the door will close on you, making you stuck in the chamber door.
  • In conjunction with a pet glitch, the barrier's in the Battle Room may disappear, as the barrier is following the player around. Even if the player who owns the glitched pet suicides/dies, the barrier will still not appear. The only known way to fix this is a map reset.
  • In certain circumstances, you are able to stand under a chamber door and stay alive which would keep the door from closing. It would not close until the player was to move out of the door.
